Team Championship hots up going into round five

Team Championship hots up going into round five

With just two races remaining in the series and still only a small number of points separating the leading riders, expect some dramatic action at the fifth race of the Dynamo Events Team Championship this Sunday.

Michael Torckler of Blindz Direct will be out to defend both his Overall Lead and his Team’s Overall Lead in the Category 1 points tables, as the Spoken Cycles and the Speed Works Cipollini teams are chasing close behind by just three points and Te Awamutu’s Frank Sutton will be looking to regain the Leaders Jersey after being marked out the break during the Arohena loop round.

While Thermal Chemistry, Albany Bike Club and Speed Works Diamante all hold commanding leads in the Cat 2, 3 and 4 races respectively, all eyes will be on the Elite Women’s race as Bikelab are just edging out the Ramblers Cycling team by just one point going into this round. To add to the tension, Bikelab’s Grace Anderson and Natalie Kerwin of the Ramblers team tie in the second place just two points behind Individual Series Leader Amanda Jamieson of the Speedworks Donna team.

This Sunday’s rolling circuit based around Pokeno will surely not only produce fantastic racing but a shake up in the all of the five racing categories. Head over to Dynamoevents.co.nz for a full list of the teams entered, a detailed course route and all of the start times.

A copy of the Race 5 Event Booklet is also available on the event website

The series has been made possible thanks to the sponsorship from the South Waikato District Council, local Subway stores and good support from the First Sovereign Trust.
